Throughout her skiing career, she realized how important the right kind of food was for healing, continuous health, and constant energy. After she retired from the World Cup tour, her passion for holistic eating grew. She's now a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and certified chef who shares all of her creations over at her blog, Hooked On Plants. (@hookedonplants)
The transition from skiing in the Olympics to becoming a passionate foodie, for Julia felt right, and was a lot like Jules Fuel - organic, natural, & vitalicious - it just made sense.

"I am a born and raised Whistlerite with a deep passion for the outdoors I've grown up with. The clean mountain air and the terrain they provide, the positive vibes of Whistler and the people in my life have shaped me into the person I am today; one who has a passion for living an active and healthy life.
Ever since getting strapped to my skis as a two-year-old, most of my life goals have been focused on my skiing career. With my parents both world class skiers (Crazy Canuck, Dave Murray and World Champion Freestyle skier, Stephanie Sloan), skiing was inevitably going to be a big of my life.
In a big Olympic way.

In a nutshell, I had an Olympic dream in grade 5 to race down my Dad's ski run.
After making the switch and competing for a few years on the National Ski Cross team, the Grade 5 dream came true.
Competing in the Olympics, and winning a World Champion silver medal didn't come without ups and downs, just like all life experiences. I seemed to have a knack of blowing my knee before the important races.
Let's just say, I gained many life lessons, and always stayed positive, because I knew these were once in a life time moments.
As I was rehabbing, I completed a diploma in Communications, and decided to retire from competitive sport.
The next chapter of my life brought on the creation of my breakfast cereal, becoming vegan, creating my food blog (Hooked On Plants), creating the Ski with An Olympian Program with Whistler Blackcomb, becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, TV hosting, getting my plant-based chef and raw food chef certifications, and continuing to adventure in the mountains!
Getting people excited to eat more plants, and creating Jules Fuel for all to enjoy is something I'm so passionate about!
