My boyfriend/Olympian, Davey Barr, along with a couple of great friends (Mandy and Blazer) and I headed to the beautiful BC Chilcotins for a weekend of camping and mountain biking.
I'll just say, it was a good thing we brought the Jules Fuel with us for breakfast on Saturday...
Before we reached the trail head of our planned 5 hour mountain bike ride, we had already made a few wrong turns and climbed 500meters of vertical extra. This is pretty typical in the Chilcotins...
We continued on to made it to the epic alpine and took in the glorious, windy views. Then moved on to enjoy what we had worked for - an amazing descent (a little too far past the starting point). The whole loop ended up being 8 hours (and a total of 2000 meters vertical).
My Evil 'Uprising' bike made the ride really fun on the way up and especially on the way down flying through the rocky alpine and flowery meadows.
What an adventure!
We were so excited to get going that we were awake early without an alarm and ate our bowl of purely vitalicious Jules Fuel on Tyaughten Lake around 6:30. I honestly can say that I didn't feel hungry until 2pm (after 4 hours of pedalling mountains).
Jules Fuel did it again!
Our energy was sustained throughout the day which gave me the ability to stand on top of that mountain. Yehaww!
I highly recommend exploring the Chilcotins. It's always an adventure to remember.
You can check out our ride here (my battery died around the 7th hour).
Where does Jules Fuel take you???
